We have a significant practice in the Oil & Gas sector. Since the past several decades we have represented several Government oil and gas companies in significant transactional and policy matters. We have also been engaged by statutory oil and gas bodies from time to time in matters relating to policy and to prepare standardised documentation for the industry. Since the opening of the oil & gas sector in India we have represented some of the largest multinational oil & gas companies doing business in India in their capacity as investors, sponsors, EPC contractors, suppliers etc in upstream and downstream projects. We have often been retained by the oil industry from time to time to advise them in relevant environmental matters and litigations having an impact for the entire industry. We are often called upon to assist the oil industry in the preparation of specialised oil related statutes meant for introduction as law. Our transactional experience in the oil and gas sector is very significant and has included representing companies in projects of all natures in the sector including those relating to refineries, pipelines, oil rigs and platforms, LNG, LPG, oil & gas exploration, marketing and production. We also have significant experience in litigation and dispute resolution in relation to disputes arising out of oil and gas contracts.
