Rahul Chauhan is a partner at Desai & Diwanji’s Mumbai office.

Rahul’s practice focuses on projects, banking & finance as well as Insolvency & stressed assets transactions. His areas of expertise include drafting and negotiating commercial contracts including loan agreements, bond deeds, framework agreements, power purchase agreements, regasification agreements, EPC agreements, share subscription and shareholders agreement, etc. He has extensive experience in conducting legal due diligence on projects and identifying various project related risks. He regularly advises on projects across sectors and various geographies in India including power projects, road projects as well as oil & gas projects across India.

He has advised promoters, project developers and lenders on various aspects of the following projects:

• solar and wind power projects across India and overseas;
• thermal power projects in the Indian states of Punjab, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh (including MPPs and UMPPs)
• fertiliser and chemical complex in the Indian States of West Bengal and Gujarat;
• Hydro power projects in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh;
• LNG terminal and bulk port terminal in the Indian of Gujarat and Odisha; and
• power transmission line projects across India.

He works closely with clients, who value his understanding of regulatory framework, experience and commitment to timelines.
